Marie Callenders Closed!

Postby Wheeling » Mon Jun 13, 2011 6:44 am

Members: It has just come to my attention that the M.C. restaurant at I-17 and Northern, where we have been holding our monthly meetings, was closed suddenly over the weekend. It has been proposed that we hold this months meeting in the banquet room at the Denny's at 51st ave and Thunderbird. I will be checking this location out today (June 13) to verify how feasible it is. I'll let you know what I discover. Until then, does anyone else have an idea for at least a temporary location? Tom, I don't know if it's possible for this months meeting, but something we can look into is meeting at a community center going forward, I know of another club that meets at the Sunny Side Community center around dunlap and cave creek.

I heard on the news today that the owners of Marie Calander's and Perkins were closing 65 locations. I wondered if it would affect us. I guess it did.

Members:

Due to the very sudden closing of all Marie Callender restaurants in the Phoenix area, our meeting location has changed. We will be meeting at the old location, Coco's, on the north side of Cactus just west of Tatum. The meeting will start at 7:30, allowing time for the folks who didn't get this email to be redirected from M.C. My understanding is that Ron Horn will be our featured speaker who will tell you all there is to know about the breeding and raising of Bobwhites and Chukar. Due to the later than usual commencement we will take measures to conduct the meeting briskly. Thanks and see you all there.
